Background
The upcoming International Renewable Energy Conference is the third such conference to take place in Eilat,
Israel. The previous 2009 conference placed this event as the leading Renewable Energy conference in Israel,
as well as a conference of global significance. Over one thousand participants from Israel and abroad filled
the lecture halls and exhibition area for three full days of lectures from senior industry leaders; intensive
discussions and top notch business networking. The Israeli Start-up Companies forum was especially successful.
During the conference, engaging meetings took place that lead to tangible results in the field, and the
conference received enthusiastic reactions from the participants.
In 2009, conference participants were treated to a tour highlighting renewable energy projects in the
Eilat-Eilot region confirming to the tour participants how the l vision of turning the region into a leading
renewable energy hubris indeed becoming a reality.
Main Objectives
Following the presentation of the regional vision in 2007 and initial achievements in 2009, the current
conference will focus on exposure of tactics, means and actual fieldwork in preparation for the next critical
stage – massive applications of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation as an immediate and comprehensive
solution to the energy crisis in Israel and the world at large. Emphasis at the conference will be on solutions
that lead to a new economy – one that is not based on fossil fuels and does not harm the delicate web of life on
our planet.
The Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Administration was launched in 2006 and has achieved success and strong public
and governmental recognition. The Administration
will demonstrate to the conference's participants a model for solving the
energy crisis by advancing awareness and education, research and development;,technology commercialization, production
of energy from renewable resources, energy conservation and supportive regulation. The Regional Renewable Energy
Administration, initiator and host of the conference is also the coordination body overseeing development of this model.
Business and Technology Opportunities - In recent years it has become apparent that the application of a model
of this type is conducive to outstanding business opportunities. Emphasis at the conference will be placed on
presentation of business opportunities in the emerging renewable energy market in Israel in general and in the
Eilat-Eilot region in particular.
These opportunities have arisen as a direct result of the ambitious goals and
supporting regulations that were proclaimed by Israeli decision makers at the openings of previous conferences.
Once again, innovative Israeli technologies will take center stage. Israel is prominent in technological
innovation and accelerated technology development,
combined with increasingly supportive regulatory and business
framework will be presented at the Eilat Conference as the key to the worldwide renewable energy revolution.
Location and Special Events
The conference will take place at the Herods & Dan Hotels in the city of Eilat Israel. Eilat is the leading tourist
destination in Israel thanks to its pristine Red Sea beaches, beautiful scenery and pleasant climate during the
winter season. This, along with Eilat's proximity to new and unique Renewable Energy projects is a winning
combination providing a rewarding working environment.
The Conference will again feature a special "Gala Evening" event. Last year's took place in one of the most
spectacular natural sites in Israel – Timna Park in the Hevel Eilot Region and was hailed as one of the Conference
highlights. In addition to the Gala Evening, the tradition of a regional tour will again be part of the 2010 agenda
promising fascinating visits to local energy innovations.
