Omri Shalom Shai serves as the Head of Consumer Regulation Division at the Electricity Authority, with over 15 years of experience in the energy sector and regulation field. In his role, Omri is responsible for reforms to open the supply segment to competition in the electricity market from a consumer perspective, promotes digital transformation and smart meter implementation, and is in charge of setting KPIs to ensure high service levels for consumers.
In his previous positions at the Electricity Authority, Omri led significant policy decisions to shape supplier-consumer relations, worked to remove barriers for renewable energy integration, and promoted processes to improve transparency and consumer protection. He began his professional career at the Israel Electric Corporation, where he held positions in the service division.
Omri holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy (specializing in internal auditing) from Bar-Ilan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (specializing in accounting) from Ono Academic College.
