Guy Deknuydt is the Head of Sustainable Energy for Local Authorities at the Israel Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. Aims to formulate and support the implementation of strategies and action plans for sustainable energy in local authorities. Previously, Guy acts as Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality Climate Action Plan Officer. The city’s CAP aims to foster and implement holistic and sustainable policies and actions for the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo to meet Deadline 2020. In the past, Guy has been a member of Tel Aviv’s Urban Food Policy team from its early days.
In addition to filling his current position, Guy is also a qualified teacher and has taken part in several formal and informal educational projects. Previously, he has co-managed a non-profit organization providing restorative justice processes for hundreds of youth every year. Guy holds an MA in European Studies from Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and a BA in Government from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya in Israel.
