Ron Eifer is the Head of the Sustainable Energy Division at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. In his role, he is responsible for formulating the Ministry’s policy and leading its activities in the fields of electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency, local government, and clean and electric transportation.
In his previous position, he served as Vice President for Economics and Strategy at the Natural Gas Authority. Beyond his work in the energy sector, Ron brings extensive experience in economics and public policy. He previously held the position of Senior Director for Economics and Infrastructure at the Economic and Social Policy Office in the Prime Minister’s Office, where he was responsible for developing and coordinating government policy on a range of core macroeconomic issues, including accelerating economic growth, reducing the cost of living, budget policy, communications, and energy.
Among other roles, he also served as an advisor to the International Labour Organization and as a strategic advisor to the public sector. Ron holds a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Philosophy, Economics and Political Science from the Hebrew University and a Master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Cambridge.
