Sinai Gohar Barak is the Head of Innovation and Grants Officer at Merage Foundation Israel, where she leads the Foundation’s innovation initiatives focused on accelerating growth engines in the Negev and on growing deep-tech companies across Israel. In addition, she oversees the Foundation’s grant strategy and deal flow.
Previously, Sinai served as the DeserTech & Climate Cluster Manager, a collaborative initiative of Merage Foundation Israel and the National Program for Economic Growth at the Ministry of Economy, working with the government to reduce barriers and lead growth opportunities that will expand the DeserTech & Climate industry in Israel. She also led International Ecosystem Development within the DeserTech Community, establishing strategic partnerships and global open innovation initiatives with international business and public-sector organizations to advance desert technologies worldwide.
Prior to DeserTech, Sinai was the Director of the Social Innovation Unit at SIT, where she worked with government and nonprofit organizations to design and implement organizational innovation processes aligned with their strategic goals. Sinai is an experienced innovation facilitator, holds a BA in Sociology, and lives on a kibbutz in southern Israel.
